Overview

The 2020 election has enormous implications for the nation’s health care system.  As our next President, Joe Biden has a fundamentally different approach then Donald Trump to nearly every health care issue. From how best to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic, to the future of the Affordable Care Act (and efforts to aid the uninsured more generally), to the strategies needed to reduce the high cost of care – changes will be taking place  In this seminar, Professor Michael Sparer examines the contrasting approaches of the two candidates (and their two political parties) and discusses likely next steps for the new Administration.  What are their top priorities likely to be?  What is the likelihood of political success?  What does it all mean for the average American?
